Type Locality: Sivagiri Ghat (Kerala)
Common, known to be distributed in southern Western Ghats (Tamil Nadu and Kerala) (Srinivasulu et al., 2013).

This species is listed as Endangered in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species (https://www.iucnredlist.org/).


The species is common in lowland forests in the distribution range, precisely this can be encountered among leaf-litter and forest ground vegetation (Srinivasulu et al., 2013). The species is facing threats due to expansion of agricultural lands and betelnut gardens (Srinivasulu et al., 2013). Clearing firelines in forests are also causing threat to the species and its microhabitat (Srinivasulu et al., 2013).
